School Community Council Meeting Minutes March 9, 2023
Attendees: Justin Jeffery, Penny Armour, Gio Velez, Chris Sharp, Jason LeGore, Jen Coccimiglio, Janell Myrick, Ashley Mills, Greg Liddiard, Jeanette Knight
Meeting called to order at 5:42 pm Agenda Items:
- Welcome & Follow-up Items
- Council approved last minute meetings
- Motion: Penny Armour, Second: Jeanette Knight – Council unanimous in the affirmative
- Due to lack of communication and attendance, Council voted to release Taylor Kozak from the SCC
- Motion: Jason LeGore, Second: Jeanette Knight – Council unanimous in the affirmative
- Council approved last minute meetings
- Review of 2022-23 TSSP and Land Trust plan and progress towards goals a) Review of data in all areas of the plan
- We reviewed previously recorded test scores and EOY proficiency goals for ELA and Math for each grade, typically 80% – 85% proficiency in each subject. Each grade is tracking very well and the Park Lane staff believes they will achieve their goals by the end of the school year.
- Park Lane really has the best students AND the best teachers who really care!
- Discuss and Approve Proposed TSSP and Land Trust Plan for 2023-2024
- Update draft in any areas per SCC recommendations
- Penny and Principal Jeffery discussed this in great detail and the SCC asked a lot of questions to understand the ins and outs of the Park Lane students.
- The ACC goals were unrealistic and were revised to be better suited.

- Behavior goals are difficult to track. Ms. Perez is doing an amazing job with her Check In/Check Out program. Hoping the new Thrive Time curriculum will encourage Park Lane students to be resilient, responsible, and respectful to themselves and others.

- SCC reviewed and approved 4 teacher requests
- Motion to approve: Ashley Mills, Second: Jen Coccimigilio – Council unanimous in the affirmative – Gio Velez abstained from vote to avoid a conflict of interest
- Other budget needs
- Cell Tower budget need
- It was proposed that up to $7,000 of Cell Tower Funds be earmarked for salaries for Interventionists
- It was also proposed that we use some Cell Tower Funds to support this year’s Teacher of the Year. The SCC will award the Teacher of the Year with a $200 supply budget they can spend however they choose.
