Council Meeting MINUTES

January 7, 2021

Virtual Meeting on Google Meets @ 7 p.m.

Attendees: Jessica Smith, Justin Jeffery, Jen Coccimiglio, Jake Prestwich, Susan Homer, Chris Sharp, Greg Liddiard, Penny Armour, Isaac Zeigler, Bekah Gardner

Agenda Items:

  1. Welcome & Follow-up Items (7:03)
    1. Review and approve last meeting’s minutes. Motion to approve: Susan Homer, second: Greg Liddiard, unanimous in the affirmative
  2. Stakeholder Survey Feedback (7:05)
    1. Council is happy with our scores and that we are improving in all areas.
  3. Potential TSSA/Land Trust Focus Discussion (7:15)
    1. Ideas from the SCC on where to focus: math, possibility of becoming STEM certified. Isaac Zeigler is going to look into that process.
  4. Review/Approve Safe Walking Route Plan (school traffic safety committee) (7:23)
    1. Motion to approve Safe Walking Route Plan: Isaac Zeigler, second: Susan Homer, unanimous in the affirmative
      1. Council is frustrated and concerned about funding being gone for our parking lot redo that was supposed to be done this upcoming summer. The slope can be dangerous in the winter. Council members are encouraged to reach out to Leon Wilcox or Rick Congur to voice concerns.
    2. Budget Requests (7:38)
      1. Teacher cell tower grant requests: None at this time
    3. Miscellaneous (7:40)
      1. Update on open positions and hiring: Looking for a para, and a reading aide for extensions.
      2. Celebrations or Concerns: Council discussed teacher morale, vaccinations, Friday at home learning, and math data and if our scores have caught up. We are waiting for data for math scores.
      3. COVID Quarantine Update: Park Lane is between 1-5 cases.
      4. 2019-2020 Final Report – to be submitted in February
