Community Council Meeting Minutes

January 18, 2023

 

Attendees: Justin Jeffery, Chris Sharp, Gio Velez, Jason LeGore, Joseph Demma, Greg Liddiard, Ashley Mills, Jeanette Knight, Amanda May, Joseph Demma, Janell Myrick

 

Meeting called to order at 6:15 pm

 

  1. Welcome & Follow-up Items
    1. Review and approve last meeting’s minutes
      1. Motion to approve: Joseph Demma, Second: Jeanette Knight, Council unanimous in the affirmative
    2. Celebrations (December)
      1. Christmas Sing-a-long went really well! Christmas parties went smoothly, too.
  2. Data Dig
    1. Review mid-year student data and trends
    2. Share feedback from stakeholder’s feedback survey
  3. Review & Planning
    1. Attendance Plan for Park Lane
      1. Discussion of the trends in those who are struggling with attendance. Seems like it’s often the same families that struggle.
    2. Land Trust Final Report
    3. Discuss thoughts and ideas for next year’s TSSP
  4. Budget Requests
    1. Teacher cell tower grant requests
      1. Review of two grant requests – both were approved by the council.
    2. Other budget needs?
      1. Basketball backboards ($8k+)
        1. After discussion, we came to the conclusion that we’d feel good about doing $4K from the cell tower and $4K from the furniture budget.
        2. Motion to approve using $4K from cell tower: Joseph Demma, Second: Amanda May, Council unanimous in the affirmative

    1. Safety Concerns?
