    on musical playground equipment.

2) Review of Digital Citizenship & School Safety Report

  1. a)  Digital Citizenship

    1. i)  After a roundtable discussion about Park Lane’s digital citizenship, the council felt that Park Lane should receive an A grade! The filters are the best they’ve been and there are few issues. We also held Digital Citizenship week October 17th- 19th.
      (1) Note for the district: teachers have suggested Digital Citizenship week is a full 5

day school week so they have sufficient time to communicate the curriculum.

The week of Fall Break isn’t long enough.

    2. ii)  The digital citizenship plan for the rest of the 2022-2023 school year is to notify

parents of informational events being held throughout the district. Principal

Jeffery’s newsletter will be the primary form of communication.

  2. b)  School Safety Report

i) Discussed Below. Fulfilled district requirement answering survey questions.

3) Problem Solving
a) School Attendance

i) It’s poor. And kids missing school puts a large burden on the teachers. Nothing can replace discussions that take place in the classroom.

ii) Council discussed the following potential solutions:
(1) Parent Awareness – emails or notification when children have missed a specified

number of days

  1. (2)  Incentives for the kids – 90% club, celebrations in class, etc.

  2. (3)  Will be added to next meeting’s agenda for further discussion and

    brainstorming

  1. b)  School Safety

    1. i)  The Parking Lot continues to be a safety concern. The ADA parking spaces are poorly positioned and the council discussed alternatives. This issue will be revisited but possible solutions include:

      1. (1)  Removing the cross walk in the middle of the horseshoe and blocking the

opening with concrete walls. This would force kids east or west once exiting

        their vehicle in the horseshoe

      2. (2)  Painting a new crosswalk from east to west next to the horseshoe directing kids

        to the existing crosswalk

      (3) Painting an ADA drop off zone closer to the front doors

    2. ii)  Will be added to next meeting’s agenda for further discussion and brainstorming

  2. c)  Lunch Time

    1. i)  Discussed how much time kids get to eat and bottlenecks

    2. ii)  Staff and administration have already addressed the bottlenecks where they can like

asking kitchen staff to assist with the payment process and offering popular food

      items in both lines

iii) Will be added to next meeting’s agenda for further discussion and brainstorming

4) Budget Requests

  1. a)  Teacher cell tower grant requests – NONE

  2. b)  Other budget needs

i) The Council proposed budget for Staff and Administration to enjoy team building holiday activities

5) Odds and Ends

  1. a)  FYI – Canyons Living Leader – Ms. Fife

  2. b)  Land Trust Final Report

i) In the works. To be discussed next meeting

Motion to adjourn: Jason LeGore Second: Justin Jeffery – Council unanimous in the affirmative. Dismissed at 7:37 pm.
