E.    If you haven’t attended the district SCC training, please do so on October 7th! That is the last opportunity.

F.    We discussed the SCC’s roles and responsibilities which include managing the funds of the TSSP, Land Trust accounts, and Park Lane’s cell tower funds. We also discuss and approve the safe walking route, the safety plan, we support the BLT, and oversee the digital citizenship and internet safety for the school.

G.   Safe Walking Route discussion: we looked at map’s and what the SCC inputted last school year. Because we were in the middle of the boundary study, we were instructed to keep the 25/26 plan the same as the year previous. This year, a couple members wanted to review the plan in depth and email changes after the meeting. Ms. Mulqueen committed to email the plan so everyone could comb through it individually.

Looking Ahead:

A.   We will approve the safe walking route for submission in October. We spoke about having multiple, shorter conversations about some of these plans over the course of a couple months to allow time for contemplation.

B.    We will soon review the Land Trust and TSSP plans. We are currently in a deficit so we may need to make some adjustments. We don’t have our final 26/27 budget yet.

C.    School closure information. Ms. Mulqueen has spoken to Karen Pedersen and our Superintendent McKay Robinson. The district submitted an RFP to 3rd party consulting companies and is waiting for their submissions. Whatever consulting company is chosen will review boundaries and make recommendations for changes throughout the district. The district plans to create committees including parents, administrators, and teachers to provide feedback and input on proposed plans. Ms. Mulqueen will continue to inform us as she receives additional information. All information will be communicated to parents through a newsletter.

Meeting dismissed at 7:09 pm.
