Winter Recess is coming! The last day of school this year is Friday December 17th. School will resume on Monday January 3rd. Only two more weeks…! Classroom Holiday Parties are coming up and we could use a few more volunteers for some FUN! They will be held on Friday the 17th with the times determined by each teacher. If you signed up and haven’t heard anything from your teacher or classroom parent, please reach out! And if you’ve forgotten if you signed up, check here: Christmas Party Signups (Ms. Ruiz STILL needs at least one classroom parent! Classroom Parent Signup) All volunteers MUST fill out this form prior to helping in the school each year, which can take 3 days to process. Spelling Bee lists should be coming home at the end of this week or early next week. This will give kids plenty of time over the holiday break to study their words. The Spelling Bees will be held the 2nd/3rd week in January. The winners will advance to the next level Bee at the end of January. Trophies and awards for our Reflections went home last week! Congratulations to all our amazing Park Lane students that submitted entries. We have some incredible talent! All winners are invited to attend our Council Reflections recognition and awards the evening of Thursday January 27th. Check that link to see if your kid won. đŸ˜‰ Accelerated Reader (AR) Parties will be held by grade again on Thursday January 6th. Make sure kids are getting points for every book they read! The points must be earned prior to Jan 5th. This is an excellent program that our PTA pays for that helps with reading comprehension. We have fun rewards and prizes for the kids that participate. All the info is in our AR Flyer. We need a Nominating Committee for our 2022-2023 PTA Board by Dec 31st. We need 3 people from our community to nominate/ask others to serve on our Board. If you have connections in our community but are unable to serve, this job is for YOU! (If you are on the Committee you may NOT serve on the Board.) We welcome anyone and everyone to serve our community and want a diverse group of people serving! (We can even cater some of the responsibilities to your skills or interests.)
