1. Steve Leavitt abstained from voting
ii. Celebrations
1. Unfortunately, we are losing Principal Jeffery to Silver Mesa next year, but he has spoken to our new principal, Ronnie Mulqueen, and believes she is going to do a great job! He’s heard nothing but great things about her.
2. BJ Weller is staying at Park Lane as Assistant Principal
B. Review of recent 25-26 Data including TSSP and Land Trust data
a. Review goals and available data
i. ELA Goals
1. Kinder – 85% of students will be proficient
2. 1st – 5th – 80% of students will be proficient
3. ACC – 70% of students will increase their reading proficiency by 15%
4. All grades have made great growth through the school year. 2nd – 5th all meet their goal scoring between 90% and 94%. Kinder and 1st are slightly below scoring 76% and 74% respectively.
a. We’ve discussed several times how the 1st grade scores are not a good representation of what they understand because the assessments throughout the year are all so different. The DWSBA is probably a better measurement of what they kids learn daily but this year students only took a math DWSBA. The BLT team is discussing intervention for those 2 grades.
ii. Math Goals
1. Kinder – 5th – 80% of students will be proficient
2. ACC – 70% of students will increase their math proficiency by 15%
3. Again, 2nd – 5th grades meet their goal with 4th and 5th grades achieving 91% and 94% respectively. Kinder was just shy at 79% and 1st fell at 64%.
4. Teachers are interested to see how next year will be structed due to the passing of HB273 which limits technology use in the classroom. ST Math, Lexia, and Reflex will no longer be allowed. BLT has considered paying to use Lexia in 1st and 2nd grade. The SCC proposed ideas like asking for parent help in the classroom during breakout sessions and offered to help teachers prep new curriculum over the summer. Interventionists will continue to work with students who are on grade level and teachers with students who are below grade level. They have also discussed aligning grade schedules (K & 1st, 2nd and 3rd, and 4th and 5th) so mainstreaming ACC kids will be easier.
C. Budget Requests
a. Stipend request for SPED Team Lead
i. The district provides compensation for each grade’s BLT member and team lead. The SPED team has 1 BLT and 1 team lead because their team is so large and they split the money from the district. Justin would like $500 to compensate those teachers. We had a lengthy discussion but ultimately the majority agreed to grant that request.
